We were asked to create a logo for the lovely cottage in Merriot.
Moonrakers at Merriott is a clean and bespoke logo.
The image demonstrates immediately the size and style of the cottage, conveying a building style which is synonymous with British cottages.
The standalone building and main font conveys the independent nature of the property as opposed to a chain, although this could be utilised for a series of properties if the portfolio were to expand. The inclusion of
the hand drawn image of the cottage reinforces the personal touches and cosiness of the business. The use of same colours throughout and the image along with the typeface conveys a clean and professional image.
The font of the main text is written in a bespoke typeface, letters which appear twice (e.g the two o’s and the two r’s) are unique to each other, reinforcing the professional image of the company, as opposed to using a
standard font or logo generator. The logo affords the possibility to separate the image from the text according to where it may be used, for example smaller printing (e.g. on a pen, or stitching on to towels) may just require the text. The stylised text is charming and appears handwritten, but simultaneously is clear without appearing too corporate.
